What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember things like your preferences or whether you've been here before. They're standard across the web, but UK law says I need your consent for any cookie that isn't strictly necessary for the site to work.
Cookies this site uses
Strictly necessary (always on)
- budsnails_consent — stores your cookie preferences so I don't ask you again every visit. Expires after 12 months. This is a first-party cookie and doesn't track you.
Analytics (only if you accept)
- _ga, _ga_<ID>, _gid — set by Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, rough location, device type). These help me see what's working and what isn't. Data is aggregated and anonymised.
The Google Analytics cookies are only set if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you click "Reject", no analytics cookies are dropped and no data is sent to Google.
How to change your choice
You can change your mind at any time:
- Click here or in the footer to reopen the banner.
- Clear cookies for this site in your browser — the banner will show again on your next visit.
- Use your browser's private/incognito mode so no cookies persist between sessions.
Third parties
If you accept analytics, your data is processed by Google. Google's cookie and privacy information: policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
I don't use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or any other third-party trackers.
Changes to this policy
If I add or remove cookies I'll update this page and reset the consent banner so you can make a fresh choice.
